Early Years – Reception
At Oaklands, the children get off to a great start to their primary school education. The setting is a warm and welcoming place which places children’s individual needs at the forefront of the curriculum.
Reception is a crucial year where the children build the foundations of good learning. The day is a mixture of adult led teaching, small group work and child-initiated learning.
The year is carefully planned to be small steps from their time at nursery to entering into Key Stage One. As the year progresses, the timetable changes to match the children’s growing maturity and development.
There are two classes within our Year R phase. Each class has a qualified teacher leading the learning who work and plan together to ensure that the learning is as effective as possible.
