Being a Musician
We are very proud of our music tuition at Oaklands. We recognise the importance of music on children and the impact across their entire learning.
We aim to make music a part of every child’s day. Through music played in the school; singing assemblies; Funky Fridays , the children will get to recognise the power of music. As they build up the skills of being a musician, they will share their performances. Each year, the children all get to share their wonderful talents in the ‘Proms in the Field’.

In ‘The Vespiary’, our very own music room, we have space and instruments for an budding musician to explore their skills.
As well as class based music learning, every child learns in Key Stage 2 learns to play a musical instrument from specialised music teachers:
Year 3 Ocarina
Year 4 Recorder
Year 5 Recorder
In addition to this, children are able to join additional groups to learn a range of musical instruments.
